Nina Veselá (Cohen) was born in Bratislava, on December 10, 1975. Here she studied at the Secondary School of Fine Arts, Department of Graphics, and at the Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Graphic Design. Later she graduated from SVA in New York City. During her studies, she has become acquainted and connected with fine arts and culture. Her talent for not only drawing, line, shape, surface, color, rhythm, and composition but also for the gesture, along with play in the time and space of her work and life, was given to her by God at birth and also as a result of her genetic proximity and close relationships.
The artist‘s orientation was first shaped at home, through knowledge of the end of the 20th century and the turn of the 20th and 21st century in Europe. Then she got a great lesson from the American art scene. Since 2000 she was in New York City, where she studied and graduated from the School of Visual Arts. In addition to paintings, she also specializes in advertising, especially in the area of graphics, photography, and creative copywriting. It is characterized by her conceptual understanding of graphic design and awareness of social advertising, its tremendous potential, urgency, feedback, and indisputable risks in the area of formation but also deformation, of not only the direct client but also a broad consumer society, as O. Toscani also writes.
In addition to Nina‘s American lesson, connections with the art and artists of Israel have been recently added. Together with that, she continues her work in a graphic design studio in Bratislava again. Since the year 2000, she has created art for numerous original art exhibitions at home and abroad: 2000 in Bratislava, Slovakia, 2001 in New York City, USA, 2004 in Kibbutz Ginosar, Israel, Vienna, London, and others.
